A native of central New Jersey, Gerard now splits his time between New York City and Barcelona, Spain. He is an award-winning actor who has performed worldwide in numerous musicals, plays and concerts, and is a proud member of Actors’ Equity Association.

His many stage appearances have taken him to regional theatres across the United States as well as to the historic theatres, opera houses and stadiums throughout Europe. Although he has appeared in a range of musicals and plays, it is the works of Andrew Lloyd Webber that have been a mainstay of his career. After playing Simon and understudying Peter, Herod and Annas in his first European Tour of JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR (where he sometimes played multiple supporting roles at the same performance), he was selected as the stand-by to Judas and Jesus in a second European Tour helmed by Hugh Wooldridge (Director) and Tony Award winner Gillian Gregory (Choreographer) and performed the role of Judas for a significant portion of the show’s run. In the United States, he performed the role of Judas at Saint Michael’s Playhouse in Burlington, VT and starred in EVITA as Che at ZACH Theatre in Austin, TX and Palm Canyon Theatre in Palm Springs, CA, and as Magaldi at Tennessee Repertory Theatre in Nashville, TN and Muhlenberg Summer Music Theatre in Allentown, PA.

Favorite roles include Gregory Mitchell in LOVE! VALOUR! COMPASSION! at Civic Theatre (Allentown, PA), Seymour Krelborn in LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS and the tenor in AND THE WORLD GOES ROUND both at ZACH Theatre (Austin, TX), Frederic in THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE at Cabrillo Music Theatre (Thousand Oaks, CA), Motel in FIDDLER ON THE ROOF at Union County Arts Center (Rahway, NJ), El Gallo in THE FANTASTICKS at the Royale Theatre (Red Bank, NJ) and The Dealer in the New York Premier of BOOK OF THE NIGHT at the Greenwich Street Theatre (New York, NY). Other notable credits include A CHRISTMAS CAROL at McCarter Theatre (where he served as Dance Captain to Tony, Olivier and Emmy Award winner Rob Ashford), TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD at George Street Playhouse, ALL NIGHT STRUT at Foundation Theatre, and A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE at Two Rivers Theatre.

As a guest soloist, Gerard appeared at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall in NYC singing “Gethsemane” from JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR with a 90 piece string orchestra as part of their “Seriously Strings” concert series; at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas singing “Bring Him Home” from LES MISERABLES with the Bob Gail Orchestra; and with the West Coast Opera Theatre in Palm Springs, CA singing various selections in their “From the Met to Broadway” performance. He additionally performed in concert stagings of EVITA as Che for Civic Theatre of Allentown and A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC as Henrik Egerman for the Key West Pops Orchestra.
